how can people play accurately on violin, cello and such instruments without frets?

I play the guitar so i know how a string instrument works, but i can’t imagine playing on a fretless guitar, it simply wouldn’t work right?

Is there a five-string version of the Ibanez SR300F fretless bass guitar?

Please let me know if there is!

Don’t look like it bro. The SR300F is the only fretless I cold find in the SR series, all other five strings are medium frets.
The Gary Willis signiture is a five string fretless though.
