I want to open a head shop, should I?

I'm 13, and for the past year, I have wanted to open a "head shop"/music store. Would I need to go to college or anything?
There are plenty of head shops in my area, So I dont think law will be a huge problem.
i know i cant open til atleast 18, im just going to start saving/planning now.. ha. like 4 more years!

you dont need college to open a business if you have the money to do so but i do not think a head shop would be a good idea unless you have the stomach for fighting with the state and local and federal government

Which is the best student town in The Netherlands?

I'm thinking of doing a masters in the Netherlands as it is relatively cheap compared to my own country. I'll probably stay away from Rotterdam and Amsterdam because of cost. So I'd love any suggestions on the other University cities themselves, particularly with regards to the quality of student nightlife and whether there are a lot of international students etc. But any information at all is greatly appreciated. Thanks very much for the help!

Well Leiden and Delft are popular student cities but also costly and difficult to get accomodation in so you would face the same issues and Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

Therefore I would look towards Utrecht (still not really easy to get accomodation) but also especially Groningen which are both thriving student cities.

How long does it take to teach yourself how to play electric guitar?

my cousin just gave me his electric guitar and i wanted to learn how to play it but there is no place around where i live to get lessons...some people in school can play the guitar but they are all boys and im too afraid to ask them to give me some lessons so i would like to know how long it usually takes to teach yourself how to play electric guitar?

Here's a breakdown of the stages of guitar learning and the approximate time it might take you to get there.

- Playing Basic Chords - This is usually the first benchmark most new players reach: The ability to strum and switch between the basic guitar chords. At this point you don't necessarily have the chords memorized and aren't able to play many songs, but you're managing to fret and strum them. This level can be reached within one week.

- Playing easy songs - You've mastered more guitar chords and have been practicing them enough that you've got most of them memorized and are able to strum and switch between them without too much hassle, and without looking at the fretboard when you do. This means you can play songs! This level can be reached in two to three weeks of daily practice, though for many it might be longer.

- Playing Barre and Power Chords - We're moving right along and you're advancing to a level where most self-taught guitarists never go. Barre Chords are much more difficult than open chords and learning these takes extra practice and a whole new set of strength in your fretting hand. It's possible to play most barre chords in two months, quicker for some who practice a lot.

- Fingerpicking - The ability to pluck individual strings and play simple riffs (short solo pieces on individual strings) is a new skill your strumming hand needs to learn. This can usually be achieved in two to three months if you start to learn and play easy guitar tabs.

- Lead Guitar - A Lead guitarist is the guy or girl who's got the audience at his/her beckoning. Playing solo's and using techniques like slurring, vibrato and palm muting is a whole new set of rules and I'd give it three to four months. This might be way off depending on what kind of music we're talking about - playing acoustic solo's might take less time, but playing rock or metal solo's will probably take longer.

- The improviser - A guitarist that can improvise riffs and solos on the spot (and in the middle of a song), have moved from the realm of amateurship to being a pro or semi-pro. Depending on how much talent you have and what you're musical background is, this might take anything from six months to a year.

Please note that these time lengths are given as a very broad estimate and aimed at people with little musical experience. If it takes you longer than a week to learn the basic chords, don't get upset. These times are not set in stone and you have to learn and develop at a pace that's natural and comfortable for you!

i keep hearing about the old gun that had there action's made in Belgium and Germany (and how great there are) are there any gun manufacturers that still have the actions of there gun made in Germany or Belgium

Tenor sax players...?

Which is the best sax, I will play it in both marching and jazz band.
I will keep it for the rest of my life probubly.

The sax that is better is the one you like most. From a technical aspect, the Yani and the Selmer are better than the Jupiter (in general). Before you buy any of these, you should play on them all and see which one plays best with you. I've played a bunch of Selmer Mark VI saxophones and to this day I haven't found one I like. Also, all of those saxophones are considered student/intermediate horns. If you plan on playing through college, I think you might want to consider upping to a higher level horn than any of these. Examples from the list you gave that would be better would be:
Yani-9937, 9930, 992, 991.
Selmer-Any of the Paris line Super actions or Reference 54 or Reference 74.
Jupiter-2089 in the XO Pro series (Note that most schools and professional musicians do not consider Jupiter a professional level brand. It is great for student horns, but not for professional level playing).

Also consider the other brands such as Keilwerth, Yamaha, and Cannonball as they are all great professional level horns. On another side note, don't relegate yourself to marching and jazz band. If you plan to play in college, be prepared to play a lot of classical saxophone repetoire, even more than jazz and definetely more than marching band. Consider that when buying a horn in that you'll want a horn with a warm round sound.

How do i use a silent dog whistle to train my dog?

my dog is a owner-trained service dog in training. and i'm invistigateing different postive and humane ways to train my sdit. we have tried clicker training. I need an easier way to get her attention when outdoors when we are going down the street with me in my power wheel chair. I'm not strong enough to work her with choke collar corrections and she pulls even against the choke collars and I don't want to hurt her throat or neck so thought what about using a dog whistle? how do I use a dog whistle to train her? are dog whistles only used to train bird dogs to hunt? Please let me know if I can use one to help train her for obedience and to get her attention when I need to give a hand signal for a service task or can I use the whistle it's self instead of hand signals to get her to do her service dog tasks?

What is the reason of increasing case of extra marital affair.?

Can you tell me the ratio out of 100% in society who is carrying such relations and reasons behind that.

from my own research on this matter about 60% of married men and 40% of married women have affairs, averaging about 80% of marriages at least one spouse has an affair. but only about 30% of these marriages end in divorce.

some books and/or websites claim that affairs do more good for marriages than harm. can't say that i personally agree with that.

bottom line people have affairs out of pure selfishness. most will excuse thier decision of having an affair by saying there were problems in the marriage, the marriage got too routinue and dull, sexual incompatibility and adjusting to having children (mom giving more attention to baby and being too tired, etc).

my own personal bottom line to it is that people today do not have coping skills to deal with relationships. partially due to so many of our parents having had divorces and not being a working example set for us. partially due to a society that caters to quick and easy satisfation created through fantasy, and rarely regarding anything sacred or lasting.
