All About Eve

All About Eve was the most outstanding movie ever. I kept on watching it over and over again not only because of the exuberant characters of the movie but also due to the powerful plot of the film. Anne Baxter outshined in her title role and played her role extremely well even though she was a new comer at that moment. Joseph L. Mankiewicz directed the movie by putting in all his efforts and made this film a real success in my eyes.

The story itself was something "out of the world" which was further enhanced with exceptionally outstanding cast of the movie. The script was real and convincing which worked well with facial expressions and body language of the characters.  It was an adult but literate movie that captured its viewers' minds and got a place in their hearts .

Though Bette Davis was time-honored but somewhat aging star, she still appeared glorious to me. She was not only a character but also a symbol with a magnificent approach, that were the reasons that even her extremes were realistic. It put forward a realistic approach of the era about a women's interactions and dealings in a society of man in a male dominant society. It still  bewitches me when I think of all those sacrifices that a career woman had to make back at  then. This phenomenon had been beautifully depicted by the movie. It addressed the anger at love that was totally materialistic. I certainly got engaged right through the beginning till end.

What do you think was/is the golden era for Hip Hop (years)?

I keep hearing that the early 90's was the golden Hip Hop era. I have to agree with this cause I was 14,15 years old in the early 90's and that's when I remember Hip Hop being really HUGE back then. Thousands of people were really embracing Hip Hop and there wasn't so much of a backlash like there is now. What do you think?

Hip Hop has never been more popular than it is right now, unfortunately. This is the golden age of hip hop. When MTV is dominated by one particular type of music, that is usually its golden age. Gladly, this usually happens just before a huge backlash and explosion of new music. eg; Hair bands in 80's, Grunge early 90's, pop/boy bands late 90's.
