Does Anyone know about the Qualities of Trumpets?
I was looking at the Weimars, and I wanted to know how good they actualy are. Also, what does Bb stand for, i see that a lot.
Weimar instruments are not worth it. They break easily and quickly. There's no warranty so you will not get your money back. And, no reputable repair person will touch them. Most "New" instruments sold on eBay are horrible.
You're better off going with a used Bach, Yamaha, Getzen, Holton, Conn, Benge, Selmer, King, Leblanc, or Olds. Student model should perfectly suitable for you.
Bb:
Bb (read B-Flat) trumpet is a transposing instrument. This means that the open fundamental pitch (in the case of the trumpet one octave above fundamental) is Bb. Almost all trombones, tubas, clarinets, and tenor saxophones are Bb as well. What this also means for trumpet though is that the music is transposed. C-D-E-F-G on the music staff (for Bb trumpet) is played C-D-E-F-G on the trumpet but will match up with Bb-C-D-Eb-F on the piano or another concert pitch instrument.
FYI: Tubas and trombones are in Bb but read music in concert pitch. They don't transpose.
